Preserving History Through Craftsmanship: Indiana Historical Society Floor Restorations

One of our most exciting recent projects involved a comprehensive Indiana Floor Restoration at the Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis. From the wood stage that hosts concerts and programs to historic tile bathrooms and high-performance epoxy areas, our team showcased the versatility and depth of our restoration services.

Wood Floor Restoration on the Concert Stage

The heart of this project was the full wood floor restoration of the Historical Society’s stage. This stage sees constant use for performances, lectures, and special events, and years of activity left behind scratches, wear, and imperfections.

We fully sanded down the wood, working systematically through 60, 80, 100, and 120 grit sandpaper using both a professional drum sander and wood floor edger.
Our team carefully performed wood fill patching to address gaps and imperfections, restoring a smooth, consistent surface.
To complete the job, we applied Sport Coat wood floor sealer, a water-based urethane known for its durability and crystal-clear finish, ensuring the stage could handle heavy foot traffic while maintaining a beautiful, polished look.

The end result? A stage that not only shines under the lights but is ready to handle years of music, performances, and events to come.

EnduraGLAZE Tile Restoration in Historic Bathrooms

In addition to the stage, we also tackled the tile restoration in the Historical Society’s bathrooms. Using our EnduraGLAZE system, we revived old, worn tile to bring back its original luster. This process enhances both appearance and performance, creating brighter, cleaner, and longer-lasting surfaces, without the need for expensive tear-outs or replacements.

Epoxy Flooring with Sand Broadcast for Safety

To round out the project, we installed an epoxy floor system in a high-traffic utility area. For this application, we used a single-color epoxy coating with a sand broadcast for added grip and safety. This combination provides durability, slip resistance, and an easy-to-maintain surface perfect for heavy-use areas.
