Preserving History with a Modern Touch: Terrazzo and ChromaGLAZE Restoration at Shelbyville Masonic Temple

At Midwest Floor Restore, we take pride in blending craftsmanship with cutting-edge restoration systems—especially when it means breathing new life into historical spaces. One of our most recent projects brought us to the Shelbyville Masonic Temple, a building steeped in tradition and architectural character.

Our team was honored to fully restore the original terrazzo floors inside this historic site. These floors had seen decades of wear, but with expert grinding, polishing, and sealing, we were able to bring out their natural beauty and durability. There’s nothing quite like seeing a classic terrazzo floor return to its vibrant, glassy finish.

But we didn’t stop there.

To complement the fresh flooring, we applied ChromaGLAZE by SaniGLAZE to the wall tile—an innovative color glaze treatment that revives tile surfaces and grout without the need for replacement. This system doesn’t just make old walls look new—it creates a sanitary, easy-to-maintain surface that’s perfect for high-traffic public buildings.

The combination of restored terrazzo and ChromaGLAZE-treated tile gave the Shelbyville Masonic Temple a clean, bright, and timeless aesthetic—ready for the next chapter of its long-standing service to the community.
